Stories from Around the Globe

Your giving impacts individuals here in the United States, churches as a whole, and the nations for the cause of Christ. Over 2800 leaders from hundreds of churches and organizations have been trained through our seminars since 2010. Those leaders are serving in or have mobilized teams to 130 nations (designated in teal on the adjacent map).

In addition, we have ongoing partnerships across Eastern Europe, Latin America, the Middle East, North and East Africa, and Southeast Asia. Your donation to CULTURELink is one of the most exciting investments you can make. Read the stories below and be encouraged by what God is doing among the nations.

CULTURELink was featured in OPEN USA’s virtual church leaders conference this year. Their insights for cross-cultural training added much value. Larry Ragan also represented OPEN as the B4T spokesperson at the Anglican Church’s New Wineskins conference in 2019. CULTURELink’s expertise in church mobilization and training helps B4T deploy strategic worker to the unreached areas of the world. I can personally testify that one leaves a meeting with Larry feeling heard, blessed, and inspired to reach the world.”

“We are grateful for CULTURELink. They embody servanthood, honesty, humility, and true friendship. Our 8-year relationship is one of mutual respect, co-working, equal partnership, and trust. CULTURELink has made and is making a tremendous impact in the lives of our students, staff, widows, orphans, and the body of Christ. Their ministry is causing a ripple effect throughout the local churches and community of Mikindani, Mombasa, Konza province, Nairobi, and throughout the country.”

CULTURELink is uniquely relational and Spirit-led in their approach to worker care. I met the Ragans during a volatile season of life. Larry spoke into the most sensitive areas of pain and brokenness caused by my ministry experience. He walked with me through a spiritual process that was healing. The Lord used those conversations and prayers to mend these wounds, find deeper forgiveness for someone who had been the cause of the pain, and draw me deeper into the Father’s arms. Thank you for your joyful, empowering ministry!”

“Five major crises in Lebanon–COVID-19, government meltdown, economic collapse, a swelling refugee population, and the worst non-nuclear explosion ever–has stretched our ministry. When we are not emotionally and spiritually healthy, we’re unable to care for others. CULTURELink brings the balance of ministry success with a worker‘s ability to handle stress. Their teaching on suffering and intimacy with Christ has shown us how to address our compassion fatigue. We are grateful for their professional and genuine care.”

“I remember the first time I attended a “Help! We’re Going on a Short-Term Trip!” seminar years ago. Ever since, we have used CULTURELink’s curriculum at COD and require our leaders to attend a training seminar before they take a team. The focus on ministry trips as a disciple-making and spiritual process adds incredible value to our team members, missionaries, and national partners. Larry’s knowledge in local church missions-related areas is an encouragement and resource to me. Thank you for your partnership!”

COVID-19 Relief
for the Persecuted
Church

“Christians here have been persecuted more severely during COVID-19. They are denied aid unless they renounce Christ and turn to Islam. Some are martyred. CULTURELink sprang into action. They committed to send funds out of their operating budget and trusted God to provide–for four months! Food and essentials were supplied to over 400 families and 1000 hot meals were given to the homeless. CULTURELink strengthens, protects, and sustains the persecuted church in our country, and the true God is made known.”

“Our church was absolutely blessed by the Intentional Living seminar that CULTURELink facilitated. Over 60 people participated in spite of COVID-19. Many reported on how they were impacted, how illuminating the content was, and how freeing the process of intentional living can be. Personally, as a result of what I learned, I connected with my neighbor in a way that benefited us both and it laid a foundation for more interaction. It will be fun watching where God takes this connection.”

“When serving in the Middle East for decades, there are critical moments when we need a boost to overcome insurmountable hurdles. CULTURELink is our emergency hotline in these times. During an overwhelming season in 2019, they came to humbly work beside us and invest in our staff for two weeks. They also brought a small team of fellow B4T leaders for networking in the fall of 2020. CULTURELink trusts God with us, walks with us when we need it most, and helps us remember why we do what we do.”

Financial transparency is critical for effective ministry. Mersereau, Lazenby, & Rockas, LLC CPAs prepare and submit the government’s required annual 990s, keeping CULTURELink compliant to 501(c)3 tax-exempt standards. They provided the percentages found in the above graphs. Lastly, CULTURELink’s Board of Directors follows accounting practices recommended by the Evangelical Council for Financial Accountability (ECFA) to establish the yearly operating and international budgets.

We love receiving teams that have been trained by CULTURELink. They come knowing how to partner with our ministry, understanding their host culture, and ready to make an impact for Christ. CULTURELink is invaluable to the short-term missions community!

Missionary to Guatemala

I wish I had this training six years ago. I’ve been on thirty international trips, but through this training, I have learned so much about leadership, team-building skills, and spiritual and practical preparation for my teams.

Seminar Participant

The overwhelming response [from our teams] has been, “Where has this discipleship been all my life?” The CULTURELink materials have enriched our team preparation, especially in the areas of team building, discipleship, spiritual development, and team debriefing. Deepening the discipleship for our team members has had a profound impact on the ministries that we serve all across the globe.
