Refugee Project

Summer Ministry Project
Liam Ohrvall

I would like to extend to you this opportunity to join me this summer while I minister to Muslim refugees in Clarkston, GA. I will be teaching English and sharing the gospel with them. I will be working in conjunction with CULTURELink, Inc. (an international 501(c)3 non-profit ministry) and the Good Neighbor Center, which is a local outreach to Muslim refugees. I will be in Clarkston from late May to the beginning of August.

The Good Neighbor Center is run by Jonathan Hastings and is in a partnership with Covenant College. He and his family have been in Clarkston for seven years. Previously, he and his wife planted churches in Amman, Jordan. My daily routine will include teaching ESL to both children and adults, ministering to the neighborhood, sharing the gospel, and improving my Arabic.

This opportunity plays a major role in my future plans. After college I hope to work for the State Department in Middle Eastern countries. So far I have taken two semesters of Arabic and this opportunity will be a language immersive experience also. I will be living with an Arab as well as taking advanced Arabic classes as part of my training.

The program cost is $4,000 for the summer. These funds cover both my living and ministry expenses. CULTURELink will be receiving your donations and one hundred percent of your investments go to this ministry cause. To give make check payable to and mail your tax deductible gift to:

Please keep me in your prayers. Pray that I will be an effective tool for the kingdom. Also, I am in need of a car while in Clarkston, so pray for that provision.
